Casado (Portuguese for marriage) is matured in fresh bourbon barrels for 6 years before 38 casks were married together for 2 years in two 6,000 litre Portuguese red wine vats. The 2 years spent in red wine vats has added layers of rich red fruit and mixed spices, balancing beautifully with the maritime peat smoke and citrus character unique to Kilchoman. A limited release of 12,500 bottles worldwide.
Nose - Ripe summer fruits and a touch of marzipan with layers of maritime notes.
Palate - Pepper and spicy with a fresh fruit and salty peat smoke.
Finish - Waves of hot spicy character with cooked fruits and lasting sweetness.
