Kurayoshi Pure Malt Whisky is one of the first Japanese small-scale craft (or Ji) whiskies to be released in the Australian marketplace.

Created in the shadow of Mt Daisen, at the Matsui Distillery, Kurayoshi Malt Whisky benefits from the mountain’s crystal clear waters and the distillery’s 108 years of production experience to craft a superb Japanese malt whisky.

Apparently most Japanese Malt Whisky contains some Scotch Malt Whisky in them, and you would swear with this one it's a Speyside Single Malt!

Kurayoshi Pure Malt Japanese Whisky was awarded 92.5 points by Jim Murray in his 2021 Whisky Bible. Of the whisky he says: "this does a passable imitation of a youthful Speyside whisky celebrating it's malty credentials...I have to say I adore it!"
